Choosing A Career That Allows You To Perform

Often, kids have obvious talent. A child may be exceptionally expressive and dramatic, or they might sing like a lark. Once a kid enters school, they may show a desire to participate in school plays or community theatre. Most parents think their children are attractive, but some really are exceptional looking. If any of these describes your early childhood this sounds like you or your child}, then a career in the performance arts or print arts could be your calling. The performing arts can be a tough career, but if you find a calling early in life, you should go for it. Even if it is a struggle early on to support yourself, if you find something you love, there is no sense in denying it. People who make up their minds early on to a non-traditional career will have plenty of time to work hard and figure out a way to make their dreams come true. If you live in Washington State, you can consult experts at a Seattle modeling agency. Seattle modeling agencies can help you learn the ropes and send you in the right direction regardless of your goals. If you do not want to be a model, but you have a flair for the dramatic, consider a few other options that will whet your performance appetite.

Do all of your friends tell you that you have a certain flair for drama? Maybe acting is for you. Start small in local community theatre. Gather experience and take it with you to one of the hotspots for performance. It can be a challenge, so expect to take a few knocks on your way to steady work. Even if you do not end up as the next Brad Pitt or Julia Roberts, there is still money to be made in smaller roles. Movies use numerous unknown actors, television shows have people in background scenes, and commercials are a great way to pay the bills.

If screen acting is not for you it may be stage performance calling your name. Some would argue theatre is better for steady work because there are theatres all across the country. However, many of them are volunteer or you make merely a pittance for your time and effort. On the other hand, there are opportunities in New York, Vegas, and even a smaller venue like Branson, Missouri. Most major cities feature a theatre district, and many larger theatres have troupes that travel. If acting is your thing and you want to do so in front of a live audience of playgoers, give theatre performanc a shot.

Maybe it is not acting, but you still love to perform. You may have a talent for opera, ballet, jazz, or one of thousands of other performance arts. Remember the field will be competitive, but if you have truly found something you love, give it a shot.

Contemporary Traits That Modeling Agencies Search For In A Model

In today’s society, if you decided to ask a regular person on the street, what people look for in a model, most will say that they have to be pretty and very thin; however, there is a lot that goes into deciding the kinds of models to represent. Each agency has to think about trends that are occurring with businesses who hire models, so these agencies can have the right models for the right businesses to hire. Many Seattle modeling agencies are attempting to put stereotypes about models to rest, by selecting all different types of models. One Seattle modeling agency has even posted updates on their website about the ever changing requirements they have for models they hire every month. Below is a list of qualities that lots of corporations look for in models which may be surprising to some:

1. Ethnic background. Depending on the client, the model’s race could be a very important factor in the hiring decision. Some companies prefer to use models who have a unique, ethnic look. It also depends on who the agency’s client decides is their main consumer audience. For example, if an agency’s client’s target audience is Asian-Americans, then the agency who selects people to offer contracts to would probably choose to hire an Asian-American model.

2. Whether they are male or female. Like ethnicity, it all depends on what the agency’s client prefers to have. For a client whose target audience is men, the agency usually will then should select male models. It would be the same for a client whose target audience is mainly women. For example, a perfume company would most likely hire only female models from the agency and a cologne company would probably just hire male models from the agency. Each modeling company needs to keep this mind when choosing people to work for them.

3. The model’s weight. Agencies that hire models need to take into consideration the growing demand for plus sized models for a “real” woman look. Nowadays agencies are beginning to select a greater number of plus-sized models in response to clients’ increasing desire for them. There are plenty of corporations that want these types of models because they are closer to what many American women look like, so in an effort to relate to their audience, companies are hiring more and more plus-sized models, which means agencies have to start contracting more of these models.

Most people do not realize all of the hard work that goes into selecting models to represent. Agencies have to know what every one of their clients want to begin with before they even think about contracting new models. Each agency then has to choose an amount of how many models of each gender, ethnicity, and size to give contracts to before even seeing the models. Finally, the agencies can begin face-to-face interviews with the models, which is when they need to choose the people who have unique looks which also fit their clients’ wants. It can be really hard to find the perfect model to extend a contract to with all of these factors that are involved in the decision. Modeling has really turned into an up and coming industry, which does not show any signs of slowing down as companies begin to use all different types of models.
