Parka, Boot, Mitten Winter Clothing Systems Help Yukon Quest Mushers
The warmth of the parka system worn by four Yukon Quest dogsled teams kept them warm and comfortable for the race. The parka system was provided by race sponsor Northern Outfitters.
The patented insulation in the 9-piece clothing system made by Northern Outfitters was worn by Hans Gatt in his record-breaking win of the 2010 Yukon Quest International Sled Dog race.
In addition to sponsoring the winner of the 1000-mile race, Northern Outfitters also sponsored the three top teams in the Yukon Quest 300, a shorter qualifying race for the Iditarod. These top mushers also wore Northern Outfitters’ top-performing cold weather clothing.
Sven Haltmann won the 300-mile race, crossing the finish line in Circle, AK, at 7:42 p.m. on February 8. Second place was taken by Magnus Kaltenborn finishing less than 2 hours later. Third place went to Sean Williams who finished at 4:44 a.m. February 9. The YQ300 is a qualifying race for the Iditarod coming up in March, 2010.
The winter clothing by Northern Outfitters worn by the four mushers helped make the difference in their outstanding performances. They all expressed thanks for the warmth and comfort offered by the parka, boot, mitten and hat systems.
Northern Outfitters’ gear, “gave them the edge in warmth, waterproof comfort and moisture transportation,” said Jim Harrison, Northern Outfitters owner. “The job the mushers do on the trail requires that they are able to move freely, and our parka systems require very few layers, allowing them the range of motion they need to compete at the highest level.”
The time recorded by Gatt in the 1000-mile race beat the previous race record by more than a day. This was an extraordinary performance by him and his dog team. He finished in just over 9 days with his lead dog Sonny and nine dogs on the line. At the line, he expressed gratitude to his dogs and to Northern Outfitters who supplied him with the parka, boot, mitten and hat system that made a difference in his race.
Gatt pulled into Whitehorse, Yukon Territory, Canada, on February 15 at 1:35 p.m. Gatt added, “This is the strongest team I think I’ve ever had. We’re really looking forward to the start of the Iditarod in two weeks. Thanks again, Northern Outfitters.”

Ways To Use The Right Equipment For Every Occasion
There are many projects where building work is being undertaken. With this in mind, San Antonio scaffolding companies are there to help with all kinds of platforms to take care of the situation.San Antonio Insulation, on the other hand, provides great coverings for all kinds of pipes, tanks and boilers or something like it.
With new builds, the ability to get construction workers right up to where the work needs to be done, but with safety in mind, causes many problems. Keeping them there in a safe zone is absolutely essential. Most small contractors do not have the money to possess equipment enough to build platforms or support over two to three floor levels. But the answer is to hire this equipment until the business is profitable enough to warrant buying their own.
Workmen are often observed climbing up ladders and other support equipment, perhaps with bricks or wood on their shoulders, but the contractor has a duty to carry out safe practices at all times. Therefore, when the building warrants it, the support platforms and ladders should be put in by professionals to guarantee that it cannot fall, sway, or otherwise work loose from the building itself.
Although there are some unscrupulous contactors (sometimes called cowboys) out there who want to cut corners when it comes to hiring equipment, this can never be justified. Anyone working on site who is damaged through no fault of his own, or through bad equipment or unsafe practices being employed, litigation is probably unavoidable. This could end up with the contractor being made an example of. His insurance policy should cover some of the compensation claimed but then one of two things could happen. Either his premiums would go up to such a level that his business is unviable, or he will become uninsurable for the future which means that he can no longer operate or complete failure of the business.
For pipes and containers, there is a need for them to be protected with insulating material to preserves certain qualities. If the pipes are to carry hot water, for example, then they need to be lagged with a thick material to stop the heat seeping out.
On the other hand, containers that hold liquids or gas will need a protective coat on the inside of the tank to preserve the product plus the inside of the tank as well. This coating can be put on using blasting equipment, by those who are familiar with this equipment, who know what they are doing.
It is a little complicated since the original finish has to be removed to ensure that the new covering will stick properly. This can be done by several methods, but it is important that it is done with a degree of accuracy for safety reasons. Otherwise it is just a waste of time and effort since it will need to be refinished again. Cheap is not always best when it comes to anything industrial and it can be a complete waste of finances too. This, obviously, can lead to accidents or loss of the product in time.

A Short Guide To Maintaining Your Home
Once you have made your dream home and started living there, it is very important to maintain it in order to make it remain beautiful and liveable for years to come. There are various things that you need to do in order to preserve your home. You can divide these jobs mainly into two categories. The first category would comprise of little tasks that you could do on your own like tasks as simple as cleaning your hosue daily. The second category refers to those heavy maintenance jobs for which you require professional help. This would include of the likes of painting, scaffolding, fireproofing, and so on. For such jobs it is always wise to hire local workers or companies. For instance, if you stay in Texas, you would gain by hiring a Texas Insulation or Texas sandblasting company or worker to get the job done.
There are various methods that you may use to keep your house clean and warm. The method you use for your home is determined by your preference. For instance, you could clean your home through abatement, blasting, pressure washing, and so on. Besides cleaning your home, especially on the outside, you will also require to get a lot of other tasks done. For example, after blasting the house, you will perhaps get it painted. Again, before you paint the house you need to use scaffold sets. Thus, before you commence the maintenance job of your home, ensure that you consider what exactly you require to get done and then plan the work, accordingly.
When hiring a company or worker for your heavy maintenance work, you will require to bear a few things in mind. Since you will perhaps opt for a local company, it is wise to talk to people or get reference about the company. This is a useful method because people who have sampled and tested the work are the best resources to testify the quality of the work. It is great if you can get more than one company that suits your needs. In this way, you can contrast the companies and get the best bargain.
A very important thing that needs to be addressed when starting heavy maintenance jobs is safety. As the work will be undertaken in your premises, it is wise if you can make sure that safety is maintained there. To ensure this, there are certain things you will need to verify. You can check the past records of the company and see if there have been any prior safety issues. Next, ensure that you hire a company that provides proper safety training to its workers. Finally, verify if the company has written safety policies and procedures and whether they maintain it or not.
The entire work of maintaining your home may seem quite tedious but this is a burden you will need to bear if you want to keep your home as good as new for several years. Make sure you plan well and then do all you can to execute your plan.
